Tamegar S.L. - Celebrates twenty years of manufacturing packaging machinery
Over the last twenty years Tamegar S.L., located in Elche, Spain, has been proudly serving its global customer base with the latest developments in fresh fruit & vegetable packaging. The company’s primary focus is in the design & construction of innovative tray-forming machines to erect corrugated cardboard trays for packing fresh fruit, vegetables & for general use throughout the food industry.
Company co-owner & Marketing Manager, Mr Juan Francisco Martínez Antolino, is proud of the company’s achievements over the last twenty years, & credits its success to the machines’ reliability:
“One of our core values at Tamegar is machine reliability. Some of our first machines delivered twenty years ago are still in operation. Furthermore, our machines are very reliable in day-to-day operation, & are, at the same time easy to operate. These two ideas are central in the design & manufacture of all our machinery.”
Tamegar continues to grow by developing new packaging machinery, & through the opening of new markets both domestically & internationally. One of the company’s latest developments is the Model D tray-former; a machine designed to erect larger sized trays with all the benefits of fast production speeds.

Corrugated board is the N°1 transport packaging material for fruit and vegetables logistics in Europe. More than 70% of all transported produce uses trays made from corrugated board. Each year Europeans consume more than 50 million tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, and experts predict this trend will continue to increase. As a result, the market outlook for corrugated board is good.
Why is corrugated so successful? Corrugated board uses only a minimum amount of material to provide a maximum amount of protection. It is also lightweight and features excellent machine processing capabilities, but flexibility is its most decisive advantage.
